About Me

Aobrienartclass: My professional background is in Scenic Painting for Theatre (Steppenwolf/Corcadorca etc.) and Film. I also work in Stop Motion Animation and have had short films on the film festival circuit (Brazil, London, Berlin, Paris ISEA2000, Dublin Darklight, Cork). I have a Degree in Fine Art (Printmaking) from Limerick School of Art and Design. My main interest is in developing Art in Education settings and I have been delivering animation in schools programmes, as well as in DCU for their Centre for Talented Youth initiative. I have worked with diverse groups of people in Arts in Health, school completion programmes, after school clubs and community settings and have a Diploma in Community Development, which helped strengthen my understanding of the power of art in a community context. I am presently completing a Professional Masters in Education - Art and Design.
